Wobble Cam and Bad Acting
I honestly TRIED to watch this, but got a headache after a short time, from the constant "wobble cam". It kinda also makes you seasick... Like having a drunk cameraman, the whole movie!
The time jumping is also ridiculous. Why not just START to movie a week earlier, and establish the characters / build THAT up, rather than START dark, and then just jump back in time! In some movies backtracking works, but not in bad, low budget ones. You just end up feeling they SHOULD have started the "movie" a week earlier. AND invested in STEADY-CAM while they were at it.
Also the editing jumps all over the place, cuts too soon, before the audience knows what they are looking at. It is not "mysterious", its confusing! Then... outside, wobble, inside, wobble. Its all in sickening "wobble cam".
Bottom line: I'd give this a miss and watch something like "Legend of Hellhouse"... or even ye olde "Hill House". Even that old black & white is WAY better than this.
This was just awful. (I STILL have a headache after its finished.)
(This is, of course, just 1 person's opinion / experience.)
OH! ... and don't even THINK of seeing this if you are epileptic! Its got strobe effects on top of the fast cuts. It would be great to know just how many CUTS are some of those seance scenes! They must be in the thousands!)
