So, ugh, why did she live exactly? I mean, I know it's ultimately to be the demon's 'vessel' but why did everyone harp on 'Everyone must die. Everyone must die' but keep her alive? She, in a sense, escapes (like John's mom) but nothing evil ever happened to John's mom, right? John's Mom wasn't the vessel? And who tied up Michelle? Ugh - frustrating because it was a decent movie up until the twists starting spilling out.

I watched it last night, and I agree - I think Michelle will die in childbirth. The demon couldn't leave the house until everyone else was dead, so once Bryan died, it went into Michelle's fetus. That's why it disappeared abruptly, and that's why it couldn't chase after Bryan. Bryan really did escape, and demon John pretended he was being injured (he spent the entire interview manipulating the psychologist) so the cops would shoot Bryan.
I'm not super sure why the vessel situation didn't work with John's mom. Maybe she escaped before the others died. Demon John deliberately bound and hid Michelle, so she'd be the last one to leave.

I think John’s mom survived to give birth to him. Ultimately fOr him to put his semi demon seed into Michele who would then become a baby-demon making vessel.
