Funny Story From China

Very few , non Chinese, financed foreign films, are allowed to be shown in China each year.
In fact only 34 foreign features are allowed to be shown in Chinese cinemas each year. Co-productions, however, are exempt from this strict quota system, giving them a huge advantage in the world's most populous nation.

What set Aliens apart was the outdated tech. China allowed the film to pass to showcase how far America is lagging behind China in the IT sector. Furthermore, many Chinese actually now think that we are using that Aliens tech, computers, screens etc in our workplaces or at home.

Of course you know what Chinese, 1.4 billion of them, think. Because you are just such an absolute expert on China.

Wait, who are you again?

They also allowed Prometheus, and that movie shows pretty advanced IT.

You dumb, the reason China loves the Alien franchise is it shows the worst of capitalism. What is the biggest enemy in the franchise? Not alien, Weyland-Yutani! The name Yutani is an extra appeal because the government of China loves to spread anti-Japan messages.
