Fred Alvarez Evild Dead VS Alien Romulus ?

Just out of curiosity wish one you liked better ? As a fan of both Franchises I was excited with the idea of Alvarez taking on the Alien Franchise because there is so much I enjoyed in his directorial style for his Evil Dead that I felt could apply to Alien. One of the biggest one was his gift to set up tension. Evil Dead 2013 felt like the type of movie that grabs you by the throat and never let go, it was relentless and I was on the edge of my seat all the way through so obviously this was perfect for an Alien Movie. Do I find he succeeded to bring the above into Alien Romulus ? More or less. Do not get me wrong , I really enjoyed Romulus and I put it now as the best sequel after the first two films but it did not completely reached my expectation, it did not freak me out as much as I hoped it would and between Evil Dead and Alien Romulus, I still find his Evil Dead was his best take on a popular Franchise. I do not know why, maybe because the death in Romulus were not quite as gnarly as the death in Evil Dead but it just was more of a chill experience, I did not squirm as much haha. However Romulus is still a gorgeously directed film. Both good films but I would give the slight edge to Evil Dead. What do you guys think ?
