Amy Acker will play a person of interest when CBS’ MacGyver reboot premieres this fall.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the Person of Interest alum will guest-star in the freshman drama’s second episode as a CIA operative who was working undercover in Caracas, gathering intel on an international arms dealer, when his organization kidnapped her.

MacGyver (played by Lucas Till) and former CIA agent Jack Dalton (CSI‘s George Eads) are tasked with bringing Acker’s agent home, all as Jack grapples with long-unresolved feelings for his onetime colleague.

MacGyver premieres Friday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c, leading into Hawaii Five-0.

Prior to her run as POI‘s Root, Acker’s TV credits included CSI, Dollhouse, No Ordinary Family, Happy Town, Alias and of course Angel.

I'd watch that show.

I liked MacGuyver,and I like Richard Dean Anderson. This seems to at least be a continuation of sorts, where this is the original's son or grandson or whatever. There are rhumours of a grumpy old RDA appearance somewhere.

I have a fear that they will be sharing writers with Scorpion and it will cause my head to explode.

No, don't do it, Amy! The show is, in all likelihood, going to suck. You should pick a good show. A show that will actually last. This show is going to suck and it'll probably be canceled.

Oh for Christ's sake who gives a damn if it actually was or not? I couldn't care less. She was actually my least favorite character on POI! I just thought people on here might like to see something about her next project from the people who worked with her. I guess I was wrong, you couldn't care less if it's not POI. And before you go questioning it, yes that was an actual question and answer session between fans and George Eads and Lucas Till!

Sounds like she had a good time - and might come back for another episode. She chose the job to get "mom points" with her 11yr old son and because the writer of the episode is a writer from POI.
