The behavior of the Izoku (Spoilers)

I don't understand the agenda of the Izoku. They wanted Asuna dead (and devoured) because she was "defiled", right? So why didn't they just kill her in her sleep? If it was because they were somehow afraid of Morisaki waking up, they'd just have to take her a short distance away; why go through the trouble of bringing her to the ruins where she found Manna? Some religous/mythological thing maybe?

Yeah, I assume they needed to inflict emotional torture before killing her or needed to kill her there.

They were hella creepy and awesome.

Maybe they weren't hungry just yet. Or wanted to kill them both at the same. time.
