puzzles about some story elements (spoilers)

There are a couple of things that puzzle me about this movie.

First off, Shun says things that make it seem that he already knows of Asuna. Something like, "that's all I ever wanted for you," as though his coming there had something to do with her. But why he came is never really explained at all. He had a reason, but I haven't a clue as to what it was.

Then there's the crystal Asuna's father gave her. How did he have a crystal from Agartha?

Any ideas? Or is this a case of a movie creating mysteries and then just forgetting about them?

It was odd that it was never addressed, but as the Izoku refer to Asuna as defiled (which I believe was the same term used for the "hafling girl" Mana) it can be presumed that her father was from Agartha.

Yeah, what the other poster said about Asuna's dad being from Agartha.

My question is: after they went down the river, what happened? Asuna says she's got to save him, then next thing we know Mr. Morizaki finds Asuna and takes her to his camp where Mona (the little girl) and Shin already are?

My guess is Asuna tried to save Shin but got separated. Or she was able to get him to shore but collapsed. I'll have to rewatch.
