Brendan Fletcher KILLS it
Maybe cause I am a huge Allman Bros fan
Maybe because I love the raspy voice
or maybe cuz he just nailed it.

He does, but also sounds a little bit the same in each song. Adam's team was just so deep and good so Adam had to save him. That being said, I was surprised he got the prime spot of closing the show, considering he was a save from the week before.
shareI love him. He's my fav this season, and I agree about the raspy voice!!
shareI think he's gorgeous, but sooo boring as a musical act.
shareHasn't he always killed it? His version of True Colors was amazing even though I dislike the original.
shareReally?? Cyndi Lauper can sing her azz off. But anyway, I enjoyed his version a lot even though I still prefer hers. His is a close second though, I just wish he had a little more something. Can't put my finger on it.
shareCyndi Lauper can definitely sing, but True Colors is one of her weaker songs for me - I respect the choices she made with it, but they don't make me want to actually listen to the song (which annoys me somewhat).
I'm not entirely sure what you could be looking for in Brendan's performance - maybe it was changes in dynamics. The other parts of her performance made up for that splendidly, imo, but that's just me.
Good question and I wasn't sure until the poster below you mentioned emotion. Maybe that's it because while I think he's a good singer he hasn't given me the tingles yet.
shareI don't like that song either. It's just really boring to me for some reason. Maybe because I can't relate or it's supposed to be a happy song but yet it is really slow. Whatever the reason I just don't like it but I'm glad he covered that instead of Time After Time because like I alluded in the other thread personally I can't handle anyone covering that song as it's an untouchable one to me.
I try to live without regret but I'm about to break a sweat.
Brendan's version was just OK.
Cyndi Lauper's is much better and more touching emotionally. She has a lot of personality in her voice that comes out in her inflections. Brendan didn't have that, so it was reduced to just an ordinary song instead of the great soul-touching song that it is.

I think you may have hit it for me. I love the song and thought he did a great job, but yes, the emotion wasn't really there.
shareI love Phil Collins' version of True Colors.
