Rewatching the series and just now finished season three. When Emily shows Michelle Banks the video of her being coaxed by Michelle into saying that her father really was responsible for Flight 197, that isn't the original video. Early in season one, young Amanda tells her that her father didn't hurt anyone and that he's innocent. To which Michelle says that she'd be wise to remember he hurt a lot of people. I don't understand why they'd so blatantly create a plot hole just for that scene. Surely they could have shown Michelle was a selfish, evil bitch while sticking to the plot they created.

You're right - in the original video, we didn't see Amanda being forced to parrot what Michelle said about David being an evil person. But just because we didn't see it didn't mean it wasn't in the video. Obviously, they filmed that part with the rest of it back in Season 1, and they just didn't use all of it.

Emily controls the video. She probably had Nolan alter it to suit their needs.
