I don't know. I read that it was inspired from the Count of Monte Christo.

I've seen the movie. Anthony Quinn who's married to Madeline invites Kevin Costner to his Hacienda. There he sees his wife and steals her from Anthony. He seeks revenge. The movie is not good.
