character motivations. (spoiler alert)

Some characters motivation aren't realistic, and I just don't mean the ending which should've ended in a shootout.

but characters like Zach, why didn't he tell clay about the box of polaroids in the first place. That kind of evidence could put Bryce in jail. Also it never came up during the courtroom scene's didn't they trust hannah's mother? She could've used it as evidence.

Also alot of scenes in the 2nd seasons are mostly focussed on 'him saying that, and what happened to that, or how could you!' Stuff like that. Isn't a conversation suppose to say 'hey how are you?, how have you been?' This was used in some scenes but it's still hard to learn how characters feel like.

Zach was sending the polaroids to Clay because he knew Clay was not afraid of Bryce. Remember there was at least one other guy on the team who did not want to associate with the stuff that went on in the clubhouse, but they went along with it because they were afraid of being labeled bad teammates (and everything that comes with that label). They believed it would destroy the whole team if their secrets got out, but both of them in the end realized it was guys like Bryce who already destroyed the team, and staying silent actually made them complicit.

Because of what happened when Clay released the tapes, they were a lot more careful with the polaroids. Instead of dropping them into the court case, they wanted the girls in the pictures to decide for themselves if they wanted to come forward, because some of them might not be ready for that.
