Few questions

Just finished this.

1: Why did each of the students pass along their tapes? I don't know about you, but if I received all of them and I was one of the reasons, I'd be removing my own tape pretty damn quickly. They each passed them along and then wondered why the shit was about to hit the fan. Well I wonder...

2: When Hannah was talking to the school counselor, he asked her if someone had forced themselves onto her and if she said no to them. She answered "I think so" and "no". Why on earth did she do that when she knows she said no to Bryce? Just seems strange not to tell the truth when that is why you're there in the first place.

1: they each were told Tony has a copy of the tapes, and if they don't pass them on, he would release them "in a very public way"

2: she didn't actually say no. What she said during that scene was, "please, Bryce..." We all know what she meant, but apparently Bryce didn't, or didn't care. Compared to the scene with Clay in the previous episode, the producers wanted to show what consent (or lack thereof) looked like.

If Justin was her first kiss, she was probably a virgin before she got raped. Add that to the fact she was 16 or 17, already in a desperate emotional state, she's not going to be clear and open when describing what happened to her to an adult she barely knows. The scene with the counselor, he does start getting it out of her by asking very short narrow questions, but he never fully gained her trust.

The counselor sucked at his job big time.

I don't think he sucked so much as he just did not go far enough. He asked her questions in which she was either vague or evasive. That is a running theme with Hannah, I would never have thought a counselor would come running after me after giving such a.....evasive account. He took the time and asked repeatedly a she still drug her feet.

Once she teared up, and eluded to the chance she was hurt at the party, he shouldve stayed with her. He was too laid back, and didnt follow through at all. Hence why he was on the last tape,,titled the last chance at life, in Hannahs words. And his advice? Move on? Pretty bad advice. To anyone, much less a confused and upset teenager.
