saw this at a movie theater today (spoilers)

So they got their revenge... on the one person there who was actually nice to them?.. πŸ™„

Who thought this would make for a good script??

reply

Maybe the message is that the patriarchy is collectively responsible, so all men are guilty? I don't know.

I just don't know anything anymore!

Have you seen the movie?

That woman who owned the bar actually looked out for them.

reply

No, I was just making a wild guess.

Sorry, I probably shouldn't have replied. LOL. Now I'm curious why they got revenge on a woman who was helping them.

reply

I can see now why the Rotten Tomatoes rating from the viewers for this movie is so much lower than the critics'.

reply

Wait...is that revenge?

Don't they end up in jail 5 minutes after the credits for arson?

reply

The lady bar owner said she wasn't coming back. It wasn't revenge on her. It was supposed be symbolism... burning down misogynistic culture. I read that somewhere, when I was searching for answers for WTF did I just watched.

reply

Maybe it was burning down party culture. All of their problems stem from everyone being heavily intoxicated 24/7. They spend all the cash they have from partying, the bar owner can't pay his bills due to being an alcoholic, all of the guys turn into sleazeballs once they start drinking, and the one girl drinks herself practically into a coma lowering her inhibitions.

reply

Stupid ending.
Some kind of nonsense feminist fantasy.

Up till that point, Hanna had proven herself to be strong snd sensible. Lighting that fire and walking out flushed that all away.

Ruined what was, until then, a decent and tense drama. It even had a point.

reply

Yeah I was enjoying it too until the end, very stupid.

reply

people who enjoy black humor.
