Longmire is now a soap opera

Vic is the town tramp.

Nighthorse is the town villain.

And so it goes....

And don't forget the sad reaching out for the Irish mafia, wonder where they got that one from, Sons of Anarchy. No new ideas on this season

I did notice the similarity to Sons of Anarchy...the Irish mob moving into town and the proposed new suburban development appear to be copied from SOA.

That's cause they had crackhead Stahl playing crackhead Donna. Glad she's gone but fear she will be back boiling rabbits on Walt's stove. Where's Opie when you need him.

Even "Murder She Wrote" didn't become so outrageous until the last 3 seasons.

If it's not broke, don't shix it!!

Next season.....Zombies ?

This season was disappointing, nothing really happened to advance the main story arc much at all.. :(

Agree. Up to ep 7 now, found myself sleeping through a lot. Don't even care that I missed quite a bit.

And, it makes me mad, because I'm paying for this.

Ah well, we'll see.

We've watched S5 Ep8, just playing out the string now. Very disappointed.

Thank you for not discussing the outside world

I agree it was disappointing...still a higher quality of disappointment than most network shows, but I thought last season was really excellent and this was a big drop.

There were a lot of lazy plots, like Vic's pregnancy and Walt blaming Nighthorse for everything.

There was a really weird lack of character interaction. Henry barely left the reservation and he and Walt were not on the same page at all, and their relationship has always been a great thing about the show. Replace Henry with Cady in the above sentence and it still works.

I think Vic and Cady had like two scenes together, and they lived together for the first few episodes. So weird that Vic just left and you never saw that relationship again in season 5. Beyond the department she only interacted with TRAVIS and Eamon for 5 seconds.

Usually in TV, the universe expands from season to season, but in this season it seemed to shrink.

When I tried to analyze my disappointment with this season, that is the one point that really stood out to me. It has been their relationship, in which they seemed to be able to read each other and separately still end up on "the same page" that has carried my interest, not just the individual plot(s).

a very good one..............

Tom Wopat would have been a better villain, somehow turned him against Walt which I guess they tried and then mention Zack and so many episodes and not bring him back. Robert Taylor is a great actor, but I do not think that he led in this season at all.
