I like this show even though it's not really great

It's ok... the writing is fair, but pretty darn predictable throughout. Everyone is a bit of a caricature. But for some reason I still enjoy watching the show. <shrug>

Same here.

I like the mood, music, setting, and scenery. Most of the time I like the quiet demeanor of Walt and Branch, Vic's competence, and Ferg's determination despite his insecurities. Don't care much for any of the other regular characters. Well, Ruby's okay I guess.

To me, most episodes start out pretty good, but the endings are silly or unbelievably lucky or random or unrealistic. (Everything else was presented as if it was supposed to be serious and realistic, so the endings should be, too. Right?)

And I don't like the mysterious arcs and backstories at all. It's like they're trying to make it more interesting, but it just gets annoying. But that's how they make all shows these days I guess.

I'm halfway through season 2. The good things still outweigh the bad. My main worry now is whether the series will end conclusively or just randomly and abrupt. I don't know.

Even those of us who are caught up through season 5 do not know. I think after the cliffhangers on 5, we all have your same worry!

@deltaray I agree with your sentiments.....

It's a great show

It's over-the-top melodramatic at so many points. It has these great moments with Walt and this nice great feel. Then it leaps to ridiculous levels frequently.

It sounds a great deal more that you're a passive aggressive troll than anything else.

reply

Passive aggressive troll?... because I think the show goes over the top with melodrama? How does that work exactly?

To many burners in the oven this season, but there's always next season
