There was a weird line about using the sheriff's database to look into other police data...there was something strange there. She sounded off or the question was strange.
She's also a redhead, which would at least casually imply Irish, which would also suggest possible ties to the Irish mob, which this season seems to be about.
That would suck for poor Ferg/Archie.
I do too. I think that is why they didn't kill Ferg.

I do not think there is anything nefarious with her inclusion, but rather just a means to round (no pun intended) Ferg out as a character.
