How do you know?

She will never be on the show again.

Probably the biggest reason for me to keep watching, then.

I pray you are right.

I loved her character. I want Donna in season 6 not necessarily with Walt :)

reply

I love Longmire. Like, for real. If I had to watch another season with Donna I just couldn't watch the show anymore. The character, not the actress, made me physically ill.

reply

What is wrong with her?

reply

There are several things --

In Season 4, she was presented to the audience as a psychiatrist helping vets with PTSD but she was also a suspect in the ring of illegal drugs --while she was never proven guilty she was tacitly complicit in the illegal activity. She was rude and condescending to Vic for absolutely no reason when she first met her and in actuality was the same toward Walt. How is that ok for a doctor?

Moving past that, in Season 5, she was inauthentic in her "relationship" with Walt.

First, she did nothing to try to get help for him knowing he was shot. The note in the bathroom was about rescuing her it wasn't get help for Walt. She had NO idea that Cady had found him for all she knew Walt had bled out in his cabin. Secondly, she never ever expressed any joy, happiness or anything that Walt was still alive. Even when he showed up to rescue her it was ALL about her and her "patient". Really?

Adding to that, even after he rescued her she never thanked him or Vic for that matter it was more about how she didn't like guns. Stupid. Then she wouldn't return any of Walt's calls.

Now this may be acceptable but not from a psychiatrist trained in trauma. She should respect the situation enough to have an adult conversation with Walt telling him she's not interested and/or seek treatment to deal with her own trauma and then have a conversation with him instead it takes Vic to set her straight and then she plays mind games with Walt by saying she is pregnant.

What grown ass mature woman does that? Added to that, the childish truth or dare about who is the better kisser her or Vic?

The awkwardness with them trying to "make out" or have "sex" was gut wrenchingly painful but from a story perspective I understood that it was meant to show they were not compatible and it's true they weren't.

Every time Donna was on screen it just got worse and worse and worse and worse for me as a viewer. I seriously, would have stopped watching the show if she stayed (stays) on the show. She is just horrific as a character.

I totally respect Ally Walker and think she's a very good actress and she seems very nice as a person. This isn't about the actress. I want to make that clear. It's about the character.

Just bad all the way around.

reply

I second that, and you even brought up stuff I had not even thought of.
Especially the fact she would not have known if Walt had bled out in the cabin. I don't think I even heard her once ask him how he was doing.

reply

Nope..she didn't

I can't stand her also!!

reply

Me neither. I cannot stand her character, there's no chemistry between them, she always seems inebriated or high or something.

Daddy! He's killed Steve and he's jamming the door with him!

I hope they bring back Lizzie from S1.

reply

I really liked her. Now she was awesome and would be so much better for him. Come back Lizzie!

She's just not right for Walt even though the piano scene at the end of season 4 started to get hot. By season 5 the fire went out. Why keep her around when the one who really cares about Walt is Vic. She would die for him and Donna wouldn't even call him.

reply

She won't be back.

Her character REALLY bothers me, too. Not sure why, I just cannot understand why he would be interested. Maybe the actors cannot muster the chemistry required for a convincing romance? Or her character is just a tosser?...

You know what they say... no one with missing teeth wears an Armani suit.

I definitely don't get all the hate for Donna on this thread.
Some people will have problems with her character, of course, and it's great when they give good reasons, even if I don't see it the same way.
But some of the comments here seem so over-the-top, I have to wonder if it's in reaction to Sons of Anarchy, which I've never watched.
Donna seems like a smart, perfectly reasonable adult woman Longmire finds attractive. Seems simple to me.
Yes, she has second thoughts to begin with, (not picking up the phone, which I find realistic), but it made for an interesting angle as to where this was going, or if that was the end of it.
Would be weird if she just disappears, and I'm not THAT invested in her character, but why people are so vocal with their dislike I find very puzzling.
