Why did they cancel it half way through a season? Makes no season! I really enjoyed it just watched it from the beginning. I like Zoe and Wades relationship even if s3 was disappointing with the addition of Joel. I really don't get the George and Zoe connection however Zoe moving off and falling in 'love' with Joel? Worse point of the series!

Joel was indeed a low point. Now because he was there because it was initially a good plot device. He just stuck around way too long and took up way too much air time.
Zoe and George could have had something if it was in the beginning of S2. After how they dealt with the fallout from the cheating, there was no way for Zoe to be with George for then to be with Wade again. They had to bring in someone else. I think they might have thought of Jonah but he got cast on another show. Zoe did say they had a small thing in NY - something that disturbed fans since it was while she said she thought about what Wade said.
I don't think they would have had her come back with Jonah even if the actor hadn't been cast in The Last Ship. There were too many personality traits that were similar in Jonah and Wade for her to do that. True, Jonah had more education than Wade and was more well traveled, but a lot of the traits that had made Zoe reluctant to be with Wade in the first place, the womanizing, going from woman to woman, devil may care attitude, constantly pushing her buttons, were there in Jonah too. After what happened with Wade, with how he hurt her by cheating and how upset she was, Zoe needed to be (and her character would choose to be) with someone who was completely different from Wade. It's very unlikely someone like Zoe who had gone outside her dating comfort zone and been burned so badly would follow that up with another guy who has some of the same attributes that had contributed to her getting hurt. She would want someone safe. She got that in Joel.
shareI agree which I why I didn't understand why they had Zoe say she had a "thing" with Jonah right when she got to NY. A quick rebound maybe but still. It was unnecessary imo.
Joel was a substitute for George. They knew they couldn't go the George route after the aftermath of the cheating. They had to bring in someone else.
Yea I know it was given 10 eps but would of like more. I was rooting for Zoe and wade though there was more chemistry with them then Johan Joel George. I miss bluebell :(
shareThere was a reason Joel got that name. Judson, George, Jonah.. All first names starting with a J when you pronounce them. All characters that wasn't meant to be with Zoe.
