Sully

In the first two seasons he's basically a loose cannon. Dangerous but also gets himself into situations that he can't really control. Dushane bails him out multiple times, particularly after he kidnaps his cousin. You get the feeling that he would have been dead long before if he didn't have Dushane on his side. When they come back for season 3 and a few years have passed in the story, suddenly he's John Wick. He's this conflicted anti-hero that can kill his way out of any situation.

I actually like the revival of the show so I'm not trying to criticize it. I just think that they could have kept Sully's character a little more grounded in reality.

totally agree, I was talking to my mate about this the other day. we've both known people like Sully over the years and they generally don't change when they get older, he'd still be a ruthless career criminal or more likely locked up or dead. he's a total psychopath. the self-reflecting Sully in the later series doesn't sit right with me considering his character in the originals. but I still love the show and don't see this as a huge issue

Yeah I just finished the final season and he's basically all psychopath this time around. I just don't love how they turned him into some unstoppable villain but I agree it's still a great show.
