Final nail in the coffin of De Palma's career?

I love Scarface and Carlito's Way, but De Palma hasn't delivered anything good for 2 decades. Now we had to wait 5 years for this mess.
He's 73 now, maybe it's time to stop trying.

If those are the two films you use to illustrate De Palma's greatness, then this definitely isn't for you. There's the gangster-film De Palma that is much more mainstream. And there's the sleazy erotic thriller De Palma that has more of an underground home. This falls into the latter. For those of us that loved Dressed to Kill, Body Double, and Femme Fatale, this is a return to form.

Exactly! Took the words out of my mouth. This is the type of DePalma film we crave.

Yep, exactly. You shoulda seen my face when I heard the music was by Pino Donaggio, ha ha

I was so disappointed he used the same cue from Dressed to Kill.

Not me! :D

(Technically it wasn't the same cue but I know what you mean. Total ripoff of it, ha ha.)

My first impression when I started to hear the background music.....

"Oh, sounds like Liz's nightmare, how cute :) "

Then, more into the scene, I said....

OMG! Really? he reused the entire music.

But meh. It doesn't sound that bad after all. In fact, and now with a sincere opinion, I loved it.
