Chairs without arms
I really enjoy most all of the work they do, but sometimes they furnish a room with no arm chairs. They have to be uncomfortable with no place to rest ones arms. Do the owners have some say about furnishings?

sharePeople who go on shows like this don't care about comfort, its all about how it LOOKS, and what their friends and family will think. It bugs me, but I love this show. I have two small children and I can't imagine spending $4000 on a table my kids will be coloring on and doing homework, etc.
shareI also can't believe the cost of some of the remodels. We did kitchen and bathroom remodels, did not go for the lesser items and we're always way under what they charge these people. I don't need to be on TV that bad!
shareIt looks beautiful, but it's not realistic. I would love for them to go back and "surprise" some of these homeowners to see if they still have all the furnishings and stuff. I bet they sell some things and put in their own comforts.
shareIn one of the episodes I watched recently, it was said that they pick the chairs that are low backed or armless to keep open sight lines for the "open-concept" they're always recommending. But since the homeowners are nearly always going shopping with them for the big items (well,... I've seen a few where they showed them shopping for tables), I can only imagine they have a say!
If when they're going over the design with Jonathan (before work starts at all) they said their chairs must have arms, then that'd be arranged. I don't think dining chairs need arms, but my living room furniture does! :)
