The couples always frustrate me.

Almost every episode I've watched, the couples decide on one of two houses and they always tend to pick the house that maxes out their budget. Then, when a problem pops up during the reno, they complain about being over budget. Or, they decide they want to add something that wasn't in the original design, and then whine about the price. Or, what's worse, they're completely indecisive even after they've agreed to the design, wanting to change things in the eleventh hour. I don't think I'd have the patience to deal with some of these people.

Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it!

Totally! Even more annoying is when they're being shown the houses and they gripe about the *beep* carpet, or cardboard over a window; ugly kitchen tile...YOU APPLIED TO COME ON THIS SHOW!!!! Clearly you've watched it before and already know it's gonna be gutted and renovated! It's a freaking renovation show! I literally wanna strangle almost every couple on the show. The producers shouldn't even have that BS be a part of the show. Show us more of the process, not the scripted drama!

So true. That is ridiculous.

I can hardly watch the show for this very reason. Jonathan and Drew are very likable and talented but the way the producers have set up this premise is so annoying. I work with people all the time and have never found them to be so rude and uncooperative. The way they make the homeowners come across is so awful. I hate it. How they continue to get people that are willing to be on the show is beyond me because I can't imagine anyone would voluntarily sign up to be portrayed this way on tv

Love Jonathan and Drew
Love how they show the computer graphics of the design concept
Love the final reveals, they do a good job of allowing you to see it.

ok producers are you listening please change this

Hate how stupid and annoying they make the homeowners act

haha like that will happen

My gf and I love this show, but we can't stand the couples who question the brother's designs.

I mean...these guys are professionals, and have an amazing talent for making places look beautiful. And here are scrub couples who know nothing about design, telling them "I don't like what you've picked out"

lol

My favorite one is "I don't really want to buy a house that needs renovations." Why would you be on THIS show then?

This makes the "I don't really want to buy a house that needs renovations." comment even more ridiculous and scripted.

I keep wondering where the heck they find these people! Getting to be on any of these shows is like winning the lottery. I would give anything to find a rundown diamond-in-the-rough type house and have these guys help me fix everything up! Even when I was a first time home buyer I wanted a fixer upper and my realtor had to kind of rein me in because I wanted places that would have been massive renovation projects. I wish I had a contractor who was as knowledgeable and had as comprehensive a vision as Jonathan. I would be happy to live with a renovation for a few weeks if it meant having a fantastic house with loads of equity.

I almost wonder if they get people who are excited like me and they have to ask them to pretend to be demanding and whiny. Don't they know how lucky they are?

I wonder why the producers of shows like this feel the need to show fake drama. Last I checked, renovations tend to provide plenty of real drama. All the scripted nonsense is unnecessary.

That would be a great show - Holmes Pre-Inspection. Watch hapless homeowners get taken for 10s of thousands by incompetent, unscrupulous contractors, live as it occurs.

I know right? 90% of the time they go for the max budget home (*shock horror*)
