Megan Fox is a terrible actress

no one on this show is that great of an actor, but she's the "movie star" and she makes me cringe every time she's on screen. She's not even that "hot" either, Zooey is 10 times hotter... even though she's getting old.

reply

Megan can't even move her face anymore with all that surgery. Zooey is prettier and can actually show emotion on her face.

reply

yes that is why they went with the very weak character archetype of aloof hot girl

she cannot show any emotion and they have to write around that roadblock

her character is useless and that entire story arc with nick is just a complete waste of time that could have been spent on winston or schmidt & cece (who btw got very little time in their "wedding season" for which the show is now suffering as they have to shoehorn in things in this season that should have been dealt with last year)

it also happens that reegan is not funny at all and drags nick along down with her every time they interact

reply

She's by far the worst guest star they had. Julian Morris (Ryan) was also pretty weak, but at least he could show some emotion on his face. I hope they kick Reagan out before she manages to sink the show.

reply

I don't know who thought bringing her on the show was a good idea! Anyone else I'd prefer!! Or--just NO ONE else lol. I'm happy with all the characters they have now! No need to add "eye candy" :/

reply

That's what bothers me. They brought her in as eye candy, a show that always prided itself in being strongly feminist. Yes, they had Zooey Deschanel and Hannah Simone, both as beautiful as it gets, but they never wrote for them as mere pieces of flesh. Reagan is nothing but a cheap, overly sexualised copy of s1 Cece, and she just can't act for s***. Let alone in a comedy.

reply

Well, it's the appearance of being feminist now without actually being feminist. You would be hard-pressed to find an episode that passes the Bechdel test now. I mean, they made Jess run into a carwash after a guy and tried to make a restraining order romantic. We're so far away from being feminist just with that choice. The show was never coming back from that. Reagan is just a symptom, not the cause of the show's problems in portraying its female characters. I hope Liz Meriwether isn't running this show anymore. I can't believe the writers that wrote "Jess and Julia" would write Jess like that in S5 and even now with this Jess/Robby thing.

reply

Nothing to add to that. You're absolutely right.

reply

Agreed! I never really thought she was stunningly beautiful, yea she was nice to look at in the Transformers series but that's about it. One thing I noticed in the latest episode is she wears far too much makeup or she has extremely oily skin, because in the shots where she's talking to another character and the light reflects off her skin like a metallic object, but no one else seems to have that issue.

reply

She's been great as Reagan, she's had a great reception from all the reviews that are out out of the episodes too.

reply

Reagan, yes, Nick/Reagan I would have to say no. No chemistry there. They kind of wrote themselves into a corner by making Reagan Nick's girlfriend if they ever wanted Megan Fox to come back in a later season.

reply

There's something quite strange and put-on about the way she acts as Reagan. It's as though I don't truly believe her as the character, like if I met her in real life I'd think she was a very fake person who had a totally different personality underneath.

reply

I just hate that she had too much surgery, she looked fine in transformers. But now she looks like a 40yo divorcee on the 'real housewives'

you gotta know when to stop and back away

when your face can't even move it's a problem when you are an actor that has to emote things.....*sigh* but i forget that this show is on fox, a channel that is sexist af
