I too wish they'd dealt with the deceptive Ashley in the previous episode, as well.
That way it could have been a truly lovely NY Eve for Teddy and Laura....
What would it have cost the writers and producers to tie up that loose end for us? They knew when they were writing the second half of the series that this show was doomed.
So no use in trying to create false cliffhangers. They knew it was over.
Gosh, some evil plot to drive fans crazy? Are the writers passive-aggressive? LOL
Even if a second season had materialized, having Laura and Ted dating wouldn't be the end of the world or narrative. Heck, they could break up and get back together throughout season 2....keep us guessing. It didn't have to ruin the show to have Dean and Colette together and Laura and Teddy. It could have created some fun fights with Laura putting salt in Teddy's coffee she takes into the cockpit! LOL
