Idiots messed up the Episode order on the DVD!!

I just got the DVD of PAN AM today and was super disappointed with the DVD box set.

They have 3 discs all piled on top of eachother in the same slot. It's really hard to take them out and the discs will certainly get scratched that way over time lying on top of one another like that!

And while they surprisingly managed to get Episode 7 "Romance Languages" correctly in order, they totally screwed up episodes 2 & 4. "Eastern Exposure" should be Episode 4 but is listed as Episode 2 and comes after the Pilot. And "We'll Always Have Paris" is suppose to be Episode 2 and instead is now Episode 4.

I don't understand why this show can't seem to get their damn episodes in the right order. It's confusing and really annoying.

But otherwise, glad I get to watch it again...

Couldn't disagree with you more.
I was very pleased with the packaging and attention to detail.
There was a chance there would have been no DVD at all
and I've seen many DVDs much more "bare bones".
The special features were a nice touch as well.

I believe the episodes were arranged in the order in which they were filmed - except for We'll Always Have Paris and Ich Bin Ein Berliner. Eastern Exposure was the second episode filmed and the fourth to air. Of course, if one were to view the Berlin episode first followed by the Paris episode without knowing they were flipflopped, they would have noticed a plot hole at the beginning of the Berlin episode during Dean and Colette's exchange, specifically where the subject of dancing came up.

I agree that it's nice that Romance Languages is where it belongs, sequence-wise.

There were some episodes that aired out of order and were corrected in the collection, if I'm not mistaken.

As for the piling issue, I couldn't agree with you more. So many of my latest DVD Box sets have been arranged this way - all from Buffy series 1-7 to American Horror Story to Monty Python - and I really want to know who in the hell thought this was a good idea!? The discs very likely will get scratched and it's really hard to get to the one you need without bending the rest out of the way and trying not to drop them because you don't want to put them bare down on a table. I really don't see how this benefits anyone other than cheap plastic companies.

Lets just be happy they released the DVD in the first place. :)

I would say I was super disappointed there weren't more special features. They plugged the hell outta that show, and there was so much outside focus on the costumes, but all we get is the lame "behind the scenes" stuff that was on the web page. I also dislike the stacking. I need to find an alternative, as I'm paranoid I'll break them trng to get them out. And I first noticed the episodes were out of order when Kate apologized to Richard for what happened in Berlin at the beginning of episode "2".

One good thing about the stacking cases: They will hold five to six discs so if you have any broken cases you can swap them out. It's less expensive to buy cases that hold three discs.

Episode 2 is in the right place as a matter of production code but particularly involving what the agent says to Kate, it does seem that it should be where it originally was aired. I think they might have at some point added something to the script and the original way it was aired is correct story-wise now.

The discs were not in the same slot in the set I obtained.

As another person noted, I would have liked a bit more extras -- they have a few short interviews by actual Pan AM stewardesses from the era, which is nice, but maybe they could have commented on the show a bit? Also, it would have been great if there was at least one of those commentary track things.
