Over this. I thought the actors were perfect, loved the accurate story/timeline. This and the show The Unit are two of my most angered by cancellation shows. Add Lie to Me to that list.
I'd give an extra ? or two if it didn't get the boot so quickly.
Me too. It doesn't help that Mike and Karine were tweeting each other recently and Margot is blowing up, because it just reminds me how much I miss Pan Am.
Let's face it: The main networks DO NOT give shows a chance anymore!!! People forget that neither MASH nor All in the Family were "hits" in their first season(s).
We rarely see a show that was cancelled after one season that still has a very active board 3 years later.
That should tell the producers something!
And if you count how badly they messed up the second half of the first season, by not filming the rest of the episodes, showing eps out of order and generally throwing the whole thing in the bin half way through the season---the show REALLY IS better than they gave it credit for in the fans' eyes.
This should could easily be resurrected with a new cast and a better timeslot.
The size of PanAm the airline allows it to be perfectly logical for a whole new cast of pilots and cabin crew to start the show over. And if they could lure Karine or a couple of the original cast members back, even better.
Heck, promote Michael Mosely to captain--he was due anyway on the seniority list. He's in another show, but must have time later. He would be a great captain.
I want them BACK!! (But I think the three actresses have happily moved on.) There was a show about Playboy Bunnies at the same time (the mere premise sucked) that THIS show is compared to. I think some of the writing was overly melodramatic, implausible, and Bad. Any pilots here want to weigh in on the takeoff from Haiti?? But I STILL loved the show overall, and especially the Cast. Was very, VERY Sad to see it Go! Sort of the "Knights of Prosperity" of primetime soaps.
It's one of those shows that was a lot of fun, not too heavy, but set in the perfect time for an interesting period piece. It's a shame they never gave it a chance when there's so much crap on television season after season. I wonder how much they monitor illegal downloads of shows. Obviously they're not making money off illegal downloads, but it would some indication of the interest beyond their broadcasts and Netflix and so on.
I'm still sore that the show didn't get better than the typical broadcast network fare that it was.
The writing would have been so much better if this was on cable.
