Barbaric tradition for such an advanced country
The whole king by combat thing was pretty dumb, and a crappy way to run a country, especially for one as advanced as Wakanda. Oh hey, we have a great leader, but here is some guy (royalty or not) who only has to prove that they are a better fighter to take control of the entire country.
