What'd you think of the ending?

Was it appropriate, or forced? I was really expecting there to be just the one body, meaning Chappie would sacrifice himself so Deon could live on as a robot, although that would be very very similar to District 9, especially after the final battle against a mech. After thinking about it, I'm glad they went with the idealistic ending; it suits the more light-heartedness of the film overall.

I thought it was creepy. Mainly because my mind went to thinking beyond the world of this movie. You just know that someone is going to start tinkering with things (if they haven't already) and make a robot like this, and while currently it's not possible to transfer someone's consciousness (or brain), thanks to this movie, I doubt it will be long before people try, and eventually succeed. That's why I find the ending creepy and disturbing.

If we were meant to live forever, we wouldn't have the ability to have children to carry on for us. Nor would we grow old and die.

It is sci-fi, there is no such thing as a consciousness. We have brains. That is all, end of story. It's not like you can magically suck someones identity out of them and transport it into a robot, you even thinking it could be possible is the real thing to be concerned about.

There is WAY too much we don't know to just say that's the end of the story. Thinking it's possible is more plausible than just saying we know everything about the human mind so it can't be possible.

It is called A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). Computers have brains too, be prepared.

And if man was supposed to fly, we would have been born with wings. Therefore airplanes are of the devil.

Come on...
