So Ninja was a nightmare on set...what about Yo-Landi?

There's a whole article thoroughly detailing Ninja's unbearable antics and arrogance that pissed off Hugh Jackman and Brandon Auret to the point where they didn't want to be around him but nothing about Yo-Landi. The only thing that really alluded to her being difficult was that both of them demanded vegan meals.

But really there's nothing about her being terrible on set, I wonder if she was nice. For some reason I have a feeling she probably wasn't too bad since there didn't seem to be any mention of her. I wish someone asked Blomkamp that.

she seems nice on interviews and in general. she seems cool.

i think the only problem was him

reply

How the hell does she put up with Ninja? Unless it's one of those relationships where the female keeps the male in check?

Like my brother always said, find someone to be with that you don't deserve...

One might consider Ninja is portraying his public persona to the fullest on the set, without disrupting greatly the work by the industry crew. IOW, the 'troubles' might just be an act to maintain the status quo of his day-job persona. This movie was but a one-off side job.

He might be an absolute teddy bear in the privacy of his own castle.

Yeah, or he could just be a teddy bear to Yo-Landi. I've know girls that stick with guys who are complete utter a-holes and their reasoning for it is "Well he has a soft side sometimes and he's sweet"

Lol yeah I get that but I think there are guys that can be "sweet" to you and nice to other people as well, instead of just being nice only to you, at the same time not being a "bitch" or a "softie"

Don't you think?

But Ninja is nice to people, selectively.

Neil understands how creativity works. Yolandi understands also and complements Ninja well. Those who do not understand and who do not give a wide berth to those who need it will certainly conflict.

According to the extras, the film was made on time and within budget. That has to speak loudly for cooperationa and collaboration.

Except for the fact Blomkamp said “I don’t ever want to be in the same room as him again.”

Thank you, Perry Mason. You could have led with that revelation. Case would have been summarily closed with prejudice much earlier.

Ninja was the biggest scumbag character that the audience is supposed to root for ever put on film.

reply

I didn't get the feeling we were suppose to root for him. Maybe not hate him as much at the end but not root for.

reply

Wasn't that rumor just something that Blomkamp and Ninja made up? A big tell is 'Hugh Jackman didn't want to be around him' he and Hugh Jackman had zero scenes together, so why would Jackman and Ninja ever interact with each other in the first place?

It rubs the butter on it's skin, y'all.

reply

They were supposed to have had a scene together but it was just scrapped, with Blomkamp citing difficulty form Ninja.

They were a nightmare on screen too... f#@k's sake, these two need to stick to music, they totally ruined this movie with their "acting".

The first transport is away... hey!

reply

Their music is atrocious too.

reply

Nope that was all bull crap.
