Male leads

Someone posted critics didn't like this movie because the two male leads aren't white.
Get over yourself. Dev Patel is a well established actor. His color is irrelevant.
The other male lead is the robot...
the movie was too long, boring and just ridiculous....has nothing to do with the actors.

the movie was too long. . .

I wish it were at least 35 minutes longer.

. . ., boring. . .

So much going on in this film, no time to get bored. Very hyperactive movie.

. . .and just ridiculous

Not just ridiculous, but I did find that to be one of its many charming elements.

I thought Hugh Jackman was white as he is one of the main stars.

It's that man again!!

reply

Hugh Jackman IS a star, however, his role in this movie was minimal.

reply

I think you've confused him with Sigourney Weaver. Her role was minimal. He was the antagonist. That can't be minimal.

I do not have dementia nor do I have failing eyesight so I am well aware of the differences between Sigorney and Hugh. His role was small. Don't make everything about race. The movie's being bad had nothing to do with the ethnicity of the actors.

Dev Patel was a poor choice, because it represents very stereotypical casting: Indian computer wiz. The reality is that most innovative computer work is done by white men in England and the USA, and most of the rest by Chinese. The Indians are only able to write viruses.

reply

Wow.... That sounds suspiciously like a white man who's had his job outsourced to the 'brown' Indian with his bag full of snakes and viruses... I feel the pain, brother... These natives from the land of snake charmers and flying elephants are today actually daring to write codes!!! How dare they!!!! It's a pity that Microsoft and Google also fell prey to the charms of these virus-mongering Indians, eh? Bought your ticket yet for the next Trump rally, btw? Cheerios...
