Just watched it

Now I'm going to preface this by saying I loved the 1982 version of Annie and not the 1997 version. I went into it believing that Annie should be as she was drawn in the comic strips sans the black dots for eyes of course. But I really enjoyed it. The one from 1982 will always be my favorite since it's the one I remember from my childhood and I love Aileen Quinn. But really this movie had irs charm. I loved the house and I loved seeing Will and Annie doing things together. And I lover the end and what his new project was!!! That was so heartwarming.

I'd like to compare the change to another recent change which has brought up some controversy - having a black women play Hermione in the new Harry Potter play. Since it takes place 19 years after the last book/movie, it's a bit of a shock. As a friend of mine said it would be different if they redid the movies with a black actress to play her. But after having Emma Watson play her and then going to a woman of a different race is a bit surprising. I saw the first movie before I ever picked up one of the books so in my mind Emma Watson will always be Hermione just like Dan and Rupert will always be Harry and Ron. I suppose if I'd read the book before watching then first movie it might have been different but I guess I'll never know.

I saw it on TV the other day. I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH! I've seen the 1982 probably TWENTY times!..... and I've seen the stage play in Chicago in the early 1980's.
This is the updated version. For new 2014 eyes. It's a cute film. Why so many haters?

Other than that, Life is a bowl of Palmolive, and I'm soaking in it.
