Um, everyone was troublesome and messy. Hell, Hector was a statutory rapist and Harry was a domestic abuser. You sound like a misogynist, which is why you target the female characters.
shareYou sound like a femanazi

A feminazi? You mean someone that believes in gender equality!
shareFeminists don't believe in gender equality, cupcake.
I have little sympathy with women who wish to combine 21st century rights with 19th century privileges.
they do, honey bear, they do.
shareFeminists I know campaign for equal pay, more rape crisis and domestic violence shelters for men and women, reproduction rights, for rape and domestic violence victims not to be blamed and for things like revenge porn to be against the law.
I'm no fan of Radical Feminists, but they are a minority.
Hector was not a statutory rapist the age of consent in Australia isn't 18. You sound like a feminist extremist, which is why you target the male characters.
shareYeah, cause threatening women, pulling their hair, screaming at them, being an alcoholic are just signs the men totally have their crap together.
shareAs a woman, these ladies didn't come off good at all in my book. Yeah, the men aren't better, worse even, but I'm relating to the female POV with this criticism.
I didn't understand any of them. I could never have a friend like Rosie. Anouk was silly. And Aisha a ball buster. Seriously, she had Hector kowtowed in a very heavy-handed manner. I don't like to see either the man or the woman do that in a relationship.
And, in the end, she was a hypocrite. Angry at Hector, yet she actually was more guilty.
But did she really think Harry gave a rat's as$ what she thought since his wife had forgiven him? Why do people think their opinions matter so much in a situation like this? She didn't have to live him. He was an in-law that she only had to see at family gatherings. Self-righteous indignation is more about you than the horrible person it's aimed at. It certainly isn't going to change that person.
And since nowadays society has no forgiveness for domestic violence abusers, they have no incentive to change. So why bother. It's better to ignore a person like that.
I didn't like Aisha but . . . you're seriously saying she was wrong to be angry at Harry for abusing his wife??? For breaking the jaw of the mother of his child? Harry still abused his wife so forgiveness from Sandy did not change him. He needed someone like Aisha who wasn't so willing to make excuses for his vile behaviour.
Society is pretty forgiving towards domestic abusers. John Lennon, Ringo Starr and Sean Connery are looked at as national treasures. Loads of abusers from Sean Penn to Tommy Lee to Mike Tyson go on chat shows and get applauded by the audience. Society could do with being less forgiving if you ask me.

these are three women doing their best. they are good people but flawed human beings like all people
I doubt u are much better
I'm just on the "Connie" episode now, and so far, yes, the women are appalling. I gather this is an adaptation of a novel (didn't know that before coming to this board), and I'm starting to wonder what the author has against us! Rosie and Anouk are both complete loonbats, and not the harmless kind, with Anouk and Aisha both inexplicably enabling Rosie.
The men are no prizes either, but at least a couple of them seem okay - Anouk's young boyfriend, while not the stuff of forever, seemed genuinely sweet, and Hector is in my view (so far!) merely ordinarily flawed - while all of the main women are horrendous.
I seriously am starting to want to ask the author of the book, "Who hurt you?"
"Who is Brian Keith?" "NOW you're just trying to piss me off!"
