Greek conversations
Watching this on Hulu and there are no captions for all the Greek dialogue. Can only hope I'm not missing ant key plot points. Were there captions when it aired in Austrailia?

shareI'm not sure it's on Netflix and it seems to be the same even using caption all it says is "Greek". Kinda irritating especially since watching the remake they seem to have subtitles the Greek and while it doesn't seem too taken away from the plot with the first episode. I've heard people say in later episode it's worse!
sharei am now watching ep 6, manolis on hulu (aussie version) and am very frustrated by the lack of subtitles for the greek; a few sentences here and there would be ok, but for the past few episodes there has been quite a lot in greek. i too wonder if this prevents me from knowing any pertinent plot points, as there have been some very lenghty conversations in greek. i just paused the current episode to come to imbd to see if anyone had any insight on this.
shareI did exactly the same thing. I agree that there is way too much dialogue without subtitles. It's not fun to try to guess what the father and mother are saying.
I agree. And then it seems there was only one set of dialogue they'd subtitled at the funeral, and it was completely inane and pointless to the plot (Koula asking if this certain person was such-and-such-a-name). And that was it.
shareThere aren't any captions for the Netflix version either. It got so frustrating I ended up skipping Manolis' entire episode.

For me, on the netflix version, I turned off the english subtitles, and the greek turns on. I found it weird that all you get for the English CC is "Speaking Greek" when they had the convos all along.
shareAre you effing KIDDING ME!? That is so beyond ridiculous now I have to go back and watch all the scenes I missed. WTF!? I'd say I feel stupid but it's actually really convoluted.
Thanks a ton for the tip by the way.

I belatedly discovered the same thing. Weird that the captions don't play nice with each other.

I'm so glad I read this before I watched Manolis's episode. However, I went back to earlier eps and it didn't work for those (turned off captions and it still didn't translate the Greek) which is weird to me! Not sure what Netflix was thinking on that!

It's really annoying and, I think, insulting to the audience.
shareI went through the same thing finally tried watching on Amazon and was able to use CC there.
