Harry lost his temper when Hugo kicked him in the shin so he slapped the kid across his face. Case closed. It's not like Hugo was knocked out cold or suffered any kind of permanent physical damage. Surely the Aussies aren't so unforgiving that they'd put a guy in jail or even charge him for something so minor. If they would, then I highly doubt America would have the world's highest incarceration rate.

When a kid kicks you in the leg, it can hurt a lot. However, for some reason, a lot of people don't take it seriously. They think that the kid is weak so the kick doesn't hurt. Anyway, HARRY must've known that nobody would've thought it was a valid reason. Not to mention that he already had another better reason (defending his own son).
shareYeah, I agree. Harry should have, sincerely or fakely, apologized to Hugo's parents. From that point on though Harry has no input into criticizing either the kid or the parents and should just stay away. I didn't like the way the wife, supported her stupid friend. Human behavioral dynamics are pretty complicated and twisted.
