I'm confused - the Irish Film Board is UK?

I was just given this DVD and looked it up here before viewing.
The "country" is listed as "UK" yet the second "Production Company" listed was the "Irish Film Board (Bord Scannan na hEireann)". According to their web site:
"Our role sees us directly involved in the creative process of IRISH films from script to screen. We provide investment for the development, production and release of IRISH feature films, television, animation, documentaries and short films."
According to Wikipedia:
"Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another sovereign state - the Republic of Ireland."
WTF (feck) ???!!! Presumably IMDB got their info about this film after 1916. Is this an error on their part or is it someones pathetic political statement?

The IFB's website also says:

The agency supports and promotes the Irish film industry and the use of Ireland as a location for international production.

Northern Ireland - while part of the UK - is still Ireland...

Fair point on the IFB statement. The NI (Ulaidh) assertion is the converse of my point: While Ulster is definitely part of Ireland, the RoI is NOT UK!

No, you dolt! :p The Irish Film Board merely co-produced it, probably via funding etc. The Irish Film Board commonly works alongside British film-makers from time to time, and An Bord Scannan na hEireann is the film board of the Republic, which is definitely not part of the UK. Obviously they either got funding from them or someone involved was Irish, or part of it was filmed here or whatever, any of which would enable them to co-produce the film.

Post production was done in Ireland, as Mr MacMahon would have seen if he saw the film.
