2 things that bothered me.
Avery, ex-cop and district attorney, allows himself to be kidnapped by a nervous teenager with a revolver. There's no way they would have reached the forest without Avery talking himself out of that situation or overpowering the kid.
What exactly was AJ's motivation? Why is he so interested in Jason? At first he seems like a desperate new guy in school latching to the first person likely to become his friend, but later in the movie he throws a party and has dozens of friends.
