Good series so far

I've seen the first two episodes of this show, and really like it so far. Not only does it have as its lead character a black female police officer (for a change) who is also the deputy inspector in charge of a police dept. in a diverse neighborhood, it shows her efforts to try and have the police integrate themselves into the neighborhood and gradually gain the trust of the people living there---particularly the black and Latino residents, who don't trust the police to begin with. The lovely Amanda Warren makes a good and strong impression as the lead, and the cast featuring veteran actors Jimmy Smits, Richard Kind, and Ruben Santiego-Hudson as the officers who work under her command, are excellent. CBS has always been good at creating realistic, thoughtful dramas like this, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has already become one of its highest-rated new shows only two weeks after its debut:
