i was actually looking forward to seeing dominic cooper play gotti jr. you think it was because he wasn't italian?
shareAlthough he looks nothing like Junior Gotti in physique(Junior was a body builder) or general appearance, Foster is one hellava actor, so I have complete faith in him.
shareMy son hung out with Jr here in Brooklyn for awhile before we could talk some sense into him. Now he has a new set of friends and is crazy into Jujitsu
share^ so do I, the looks don't matter, what matters is that Foster is great at playing sleazes
shareWhat a strong cast. I'd much rather see Foster in this than Franco.
shareBad choice. Foster looks nothing like Junior...they couldn't pick somebody was italian atleast?

Amen to Fosters' casting. He's a fine actor who could, eventually, bring some depht to his scenes.
This film has a great cast so far. And an excellent director. No LiLo. Hope they mantain Pesci despite the dispute over his paycheck and bring some mob related actors such as Frank Vincent and Paul Sorvino. And maybe some familiar faces from the Sopranos... that'd be sweet.
Take care.
Yeah, but why get Foster? They could have got Jerry Ferrara. He's a good actor. He was made for the role.
shareBut was he was even asked to read for it.....................maybe not!!!!!!
shareHave you seen pictures of John Gotti Jr. when he was younger? The resemblance is uncanny. Ben Foster looks absolutely nothing like John Gotti Jr. Jerry looks like him and even sounds like him.
shareExcept the fact that Ferrara is not that good of an actor, Ferrara is only known for his Turtle role which isn't exactly the most challenging of roles to play in Hollywood. Don't you just love these internet casting directors who know absolutely nothing about how to cast a role.
shareWho are you? I love a******* that come on here and talk like they know everything and they're such experts. I don't think Jerry's a bad actor. I saw him in Brooklyn Rules and he was good. Who said Ben Foster is so great. Who said playing John Gotti Jr. is so challenging. I saw John Gotti Jr. in interviews. I saw pictures of him when he was young. Jerry looks exactly like him and sounds just like him. I'm going by that. Don't knock other people for having an opinion.
shareI'm glad you're not in charge of casting, Foster is 10x the actor Ferrara will ever be and Foster is pretty good at changing his appearance to suit the role. Most movies with actors portraying real people look nothing like their real counterparts anyway.
shareBen is one of our finest and most dedicated actors, but I just can't wrap my head around this.

It will be interesting to see what he could do with this role if they actually make the movie lol.
shareBen Foster is incredible.

You people are either die hard Ben Foster fans or involved in the production of this movie. You're all acting like I'm crazy because I suggested Jerry Ferrara, somebody that looks exactly like John Gotti Jr. Sounds exactly like him too. I've seen interviews. I'm not knocking Foster. I think he's okay. But some of you are knocking Jerry. You keep saying he's not a good actor. Nobody said he was great, but I think he's a decent actor. I thought he was very good in Brooklyn Rules. Why do they need a great actor to play Junior? I think Ben Foster is wrong for the part. He looks nothing like the real guy. Ferrara does. Some of you are acting like I'm talking crazy. What's wrong with wanting an actor that looks the part?
shareYou're acting a little crazy, relax. Are you is agent or something? lol
