Discovery Pays Good

They pay pretty good.

At the time, the court file says, Meisterheim had signed a five-year contract with the Discovery Channel that payed him $160,000 yearly.

This is from bearing sea gold rush Meisterheim was the Villain ( diver ) on the first 3 seasons. So we would have to assume that Todd and Parker make at least 250k per season plus more in benefits.

That's why even through Todd's terrible first few seasons, he came back the next year with a beautiful trailer to live in, and a really nice truck.

I doubt Todd would have made it past season 1 without the money from Discovery.

reply

Of course they do, how else could Todd succeed in mining for 5+ seasons when almost every year he ends up losing a massive amount of money?

There is no other way he would be able to continually increase the size of his operation year after year with the amount of losses he has sustained.

If he was actually using his own money, he would have been bankrupt after season 1 or 2 when they got like 40 ounces total all year long

reply

I always laugh when that jungle season yielded 2 ounces of gold.

I think Jack planted it, just so they wouldn't have zero ounces.
