Parker's new season goal

So, in the recap episode we see Parker's crew falling apart because they are being worked too hard, which was fair enough. Then the new season starts and Parker's goal, same amount of gold, with half the people. So everyone has to work twice as hard as last year. But they complain about that being to easy? how the why what?

That's what happens when a mostly entertaining Reality TV show turns into a lousy soap opera.

What about Todd's goal?

What a joke.

Todd should also set a goal as to how much he'll spend on additional equipment. He would probably double it.

Well I can see Parker's reasoning at this point

Last season he made his contract goal of 3,000 ozs. over actually, and had to pay an extra percentage on the overage contractually.

Parker says the extra % (%5 ibelieve), cuts into his profit.

Evidently it's a multi year contract, not subject to re-negotiation, so why put in the extra effort and not make any extra.

It is Parker's lease, in essence he owns that mine, for the years of the lease, his workers i'm sure get some kind of hourly, daily, or weekly wage plus a percentage at the end of the season, no one knows what their deal is, something the program never brooches.

Parkers expense load is pretty large, he owns or leases all that equipment, fuel, and all other ancillary expenses which are HUGE in Alaska, so he have a very large break even Nut to crack, keep in mind in the off season he designed and built a 600,000$ wash plant.

I don't think the workforce will have to bust ass any worse than last year to make 3000 ozs

With Tony running thru money with his dredge operations, I'm sure Parker is hoping he'll come around and negotiate, thinking that 20% of 5000, is better than 20% of 3000, and the extra 5 is superfluous

Parker is a proven performer, and could hit 5000 easily

t would be in Tonys best interest to make a deal

You don't have to stand tall, but you do have to stand up!

reply

I agree. I don't think the conversation between Parker and Tony would have been shown unless it was going to be revisited at some point later in the season.

reply

you cant compare seasons. he has a new washplant that can process more dirt per hour and might have ground prepared/opened up from last season. so he can do the same with half the people

reply

From what i understand, Parker must pay 20% if he mines under 3000 oz if parker mines over 3000 oz the price is 25% for all oz, not what is mined after the first 3000 ozs
