How has Tony not gotten the sh*t kicked out of him?

This guy is the biggest a-hole I've ever seen!

You'd think somebody would have lost it and beaten this old blow hard's ass by now.

I hope his dredge fails miserably.

I don't like how the show makes him out to be the Gold Messiah of the Yukon. If he was making good profits he would be retired by now after doing it for 30+ years. He might know what he's doing, but that doesn't give him the right to treat everyone else like nothing more than a piece of equipment or a tool.

Especially with someone like Parker who has made him a ton of money with no effort needed on Tony's part. You'd think he would do anything he could to give Parker whatever he needed to succeed year after year.

Getting paid a million dollars with no expenses? Yep better dick the kid over with the next contract and then not even actually sign it when it's sent back

Most people who made their fortune from nothing, keep working until their death in some form or another, just because it's in their blood.

I think they even said in the past episode Tony couldn't go more than a month of vacation before missing his family and the Yukon.

I don't mind Tony's tough approach to business but that was a sh-t move by the Beets. I'm sure it was him and his wife that cooked that up. Very low class move... and I normally like Tony but he was out of line to do that.

As for getting his ass kicked, I don't know about that, you're assuming someone could kick his ass. Tony looks pretty rough. He looks likes the type that's been in a few barroom brawls.

According to online sources, Tony's net worth is between $5 million and $6 million.

Non-compete clauses are very common.

Only a fool would not be aware of one.

Either the Kid, or Cheeseman surely were aware of it being there.

This must have been a function of the Producers in order to 'further' the series.

reply

Those two got fired because Tony needed a scapegoat(s).

I haven't watched any episodes yet after the episode where they were fired but I don't see how they can keep that thing in production without major repairs.

"According to online sources, Tony's net worth is between $5 million and $6 million."

That doesn't mean he has 5 million dollars on his bank account. It means that all of his equipment, land and everything he owns is insured up to 5 million dollars. If he would actually sell it, he probably wouldn't get half of that amount.
I had a music studio with about 15000 dollar of equipment. It was insured up to 50.000 because of the high risk of theft. I got about 7500-9000 when I sold it all. And some of it is still in my storage room.
Can you imagine how much equipment and spare parts someone like tony would have after 30 years that has "a value", but is pretty much unsaleable. I'm sure he has 3-4 old volvos sitting around that is valued in the thousands, but nobody would buy it because it would cost 3 times more to get them up and running.

Getting rid of everything would probably take a couple of years. AND after that he has nothing to do. What is he going to do in daily life? Just sit in front of the TV on a stack of cash for the hell of it.
Money is fine and all, but what you really need in life is something to do.

there's no doubt Tony is fairly significant in the Yukon, he does own a number of gold mining operations and rents out plenty of property

someone like Tony WONT retire no matter how successful he is because he enjoys the hard work. its in his blood

not saying Tony isn't a dick but to imply that Tony isn't successful is just absurd

If i go crazy will you still call me Superman?

reply

I agree 100%

I get the feeling he loves playing a character on the show when the camera is on, like most of the others do. In his case, the character is a giant a$$hole. What he says and does when on camera has that quality of playing hard to an audience.

reply

Can't stand him... Or that woman he is married to. What a ball buster. I love Parker and his Grandpa. Everyone else (Hoffmans) is what the FF button is for... especially the phony ass Beet family who has somehow grown this season to include sons and daughters. Ugh!

reply

I don't care for Tony either. I think it's crappy how he treated those two guys that just wanted to talk to him about working 12 hour shifts. I like to see Parker succeed and I like his Grandpa, and I'm glad he finally figured out how to be a decent boss. I like the Hoffman's and want to see them succeed after their foray down to South America was such a disaster. I'm not cut out for that sort of hard work but I do like to see people get rewarded for it.

Parker is an insufferable self-entitled pr 1 ck.
Tony has been there, seen it, done it. He built what he has from the ground up with his own ingenuity and two hands, a bit like grandpa John.
Parker is the typical obnoxious bratty high-school kid who gets it all handed to him, and whatever measure of success he achieves is all off the backs of others.
Prime examples being Cheeseman & mechanic Mitch and to a lesser degree Rick.
Those are the guys with the real skills and know-how. Yet all Parker knows how to do is stomp around the place giving it the big-un and trying to bully people.

At least when Tony does that stuff you have to respect him cos you know he's seen & done it all before himself. Parker has done absolutely nothing to earn the respect of anyone around him, including his grandpa. All he does his cry like a b 1 tch, throw his toys out of the pram and bite the hand that feeds when he doesn't get his own way about something.

From what little we've seen of his parents in action its clear where he gets it from.

Go on Stanley, stick one in Jane Russell & win a goldfish.

reply

I don't see it that way at all. I literally could not disagree more.

reply

Perhaps you should try watching the show?

reply

How do we know he hasn't, they certainly aren't going to show him getting a beat down on the show.

reply

Tony hasn't gotten his ass beat cause he's a *beep* viking. Not those wimps that run the northland now a days.
