Narrator drives me crazy !!!

The narrator drives me up the wall with his constant cliff hanging, near death, 'we're all gonna die' announcements right before the cut to commercial... And of course, as we have all seen, when we return to the boys up north after the ads, the huge, 'end of the world' prediction is just a loose hose, or a misplaced tool or an easy fix. They do this every single show and it just sounds completely stupid every time... You would think the narrator would have caught on by now that his dire predictions are just garbage...

And yes, I understand that it is scripted, and everything he says is post production, so he does understand he is just reading lines, but still, can't the producers come up with a different angle that is not so annoying, and by now, completely transparent ???

And don't get me started on the ridiculous low bass drum pound every time Todd receives some bad news... 'Todd, we have to dig another 50 feet down to maybe hit some gold'...BOOOOOOOM...

Get rid of narrator and sound effects and this would be a better program to watch IMO....
