Beets destroying land

Does tony own this land that he is dredging? If not, how is he allowed to just keep ripping up this land along the creek??

reply

Of course he owns it. You couldn't not own it and just go out and start strip mining it. If he didn't own why would Parker lease land from him and pay him a royalty?

reply

I'm also curious about those tailings.

I thought dredging dropped out of style because of the reclamation they had to do. I don't see any reclamation going on.

reply

Do you guys realize how big Alaska is? Tearing up a few acres isn't going to hurt anything.

reply

They have to play by the rules.

Personally, I think there are a lot of legal dealings going on behind the scenes.

Wasn't Tony Beet's second dredge owned by Canada and used as a national 'park'?

reply

Tony created his airstrip from the tailings, or that was his plan. Maybe that was a reclamation.

reply

It doesn't matter what the size of the state is, it matters what the regulations are.

reply

your latest movie looks like it will suck.

reply

They are in Canada and I assume they follow all the regulations. When mining is done they have to return the land to pretty much how they left it and make sure no rivers are blocked up or whatever.

reply

1)They are in Alaska, not Canada. 2)Tony does own all the land he and Parker mine, plus other claims being mined by people not apart of the show. 3)All stripped areas of land that are no longer needed for mining must be refilled and property owner/occupant is expected to plant a set amount of agriculture per squared area before season's end, it just is rarely aired in the show.

reply

They are in Canada. The Yukon is Canada.

reply

What does Alaska's size have to do with Tony's dredge operation? This has been explained COUNTLESS times before....THEY'RE NOT IN FREAKING ALASKA!!! The Klondike is in CANADA. The Yukon is in CANADA. Parker's claim is in CANADA. Quartz Creek, Indian River, Scribner Creek, Eureka Creek, MacKinnon Creek, and Tony's new dredge at Thistle Creek: all of it is in The Klondike Gold Fields, Yukon Territory, Canada: six to eight hours drive into Canada from Southeast Alaska. This was the location of the world's last great gold rush 1897-1899.

reply

They aren't in Alaska

They are in Yukon, Canada in an area known as the "Klondike".

How can you watch the show and not know this?

reply

Nature will easily reclaim all that.

Only those with no valid argument pick holes in people's spelling and grammar. 

reply

All the land is mining claims, I dont think tony owns the land just the mining rights, as the claim holder you can lease it out to anyone.

as for tearing up the land, they do reclamation every year, or some point with in the time frame that is required to be complete.

reply

exactly... often might be "mine for 10, reclaim for 15"...

win/win.

reply

How does mining work with alaska since the State owns all the mineral rights.

reply

same way, you buy a mining lease or sub lease from a mining corporation.

reply

So you buy the mining lease from the state if it isnt already leased?

reply

When you lease a claim from the state/Canada/owner, you lease it for a set amount of time. You pay the price for the lease.

You then can offer the lease to someone to mine the lease, or mine it your self.

You as the lease hold are responsible for completing all of the regulations set forward by that lease.

Once your lease expires and you do not have the option to release it, it reverts back to the owner of the lease, this could be state/Canada/Owner.
