I Can Not Believe There Are FOOLS here who still....

.....think The Yukon, The Klondike, Tony's claims, Tony's dredge, Parker's claim and Todd's last two claims are in Alaska!?! Seriously....how many times does it need to be explained that the Klondike is in freakin' Canada? Get a map why don't you before making embarrassing posts about Tony tearing up Alaska. He's tearing up land about an hour outside of Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada(about a six hour drive into Canada from Haines, AK) and just like EVERY other claim he's ever mined he will be obligated to reclaim the land within a certain number of years. When he's done with reclamation within a few years you will never know it was ever dredged just like all that land Todd stripped during his first weeks on Quartz creek - he had NO IDEA it had all been dredged until they found dredge cables several feet down in the overburden. Tony's claim will look just as natural in a few years. All those dredge tailings? Guess where the gravel that is used for new road beds around the Klondike comes from...

I think some of the confusion regarding where the show takes place might be because the very first season followed the Hoffmans at Porcupine Creek (Alaska) with some appearances from Parker at the Big Nugget mine (also Alaska). Heck, the first season of the series was called "Gold Rush Alaska". Of course for most of the series since then they are all mining in the Yukon which, of course, is in Canada until this season where, as we all know, the Hoffmans are in Oregon.

Some people probably remember the show being called Gold Rush Alaska and with all the other Alaska centered shows that Discovery keeps pumping out it just all kidnda runs together. Heck it all looks the same haha

It's probably more likely they moved it back to Oregon so that Todd’s crew could fail miserably. For this show to have any ratings someone has to fail and Todd seems to be everyone’s favorite loser. And if he had remained working a decent claim in Canada he would have appeared to be successful.
