Hopefully I will have forgotten some of what I just saw when the movie comes out. Except for telling us beat by beat how the film will go, it looked good.
In contrast, the Live By night trailer was amazing because it made you stoked to watch the film, without giving the film away.
We got several new trailers last night at the movies, including the two you mention.
Gold is based on a true story. So if it follows that true story and you don't want spoilers, don't check out Wikipedia!l If it does the trailer certainly doesn't show even half the story.
Live by Night looks good though Affleck's previous 2 films I think are very overrated. I hope he isn't in every scene though because he really is a lousy actor.
Did you see the trailers for LaLaLand and the Warren Beatty movie which has a horrible (and forgettable) title? LaLa Land's getting great reviews but the trailer had us turning to each other and saying "not going to that" and the Beatty movie looked more interesting (and Beatty's most recent movies have been mediocre).
Trailers can be so misleading though.
Beatty's film, Rules Don't Apply, looks like it's going to be a flop. Typical glossy, hollow nonsense. It's just an excuse for him to portray Howard Huges and nothing more.
If you're willing to miss out on La La Land, it's your loss! I think it looks breathtaking and Gosling and Stone have amazing chemistry together. Critics are suggesting Stone is a major Oscar contender, as is the director Chazelle. The trailers give me chills every time I see them.

Actually this movie has a lot more plot twists and turns than what was revealed in the trailer, and MM should get an acting nom again.

If the main plot is accurately follows the real story.....at least 1 part of the trailer shows some trickery.
