Moved to 2017

Weinstein just announced the WIDE release is moving to January 2017 - no LA or NY openings before the end of the year - no awards consideration. In the industry this is what is referred to as a Bad Omen.

When did they announce that? They'd previously announced a wide release in January with qualifying runs in LA and NY before the end of the year.

reply

They better do something cuz it was just nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Song.

reply

Yeah, Deadline pointed out McConaughey was one of the snubees (along with Tom Hanks, Scorsese and Taraji Henson).

reply

It will still play in NY and LA for a week in 2016, thus making it eligible for award nominations.

reply

It's still opening in limited release to be eligible for awards consideration, but I honestly don't think it has much of chance. Especially considering the one review for the film I read gave it a 5/10.

Link to the review?

The review the girl posted on here (but now has apparently deleted because she broke the embargo?). She's a wannabe blogger not a film critic. She complained the movie was male-centric. She got into an early screening but I bet she lost her screening privileges with that one.

That's a good sign.

Whatever you are, be a good one.
