Is Mathew McConaughey really balding ?

At first I assumed he just wore a bald cap to make himself look like the real person from the true story it is based on. But when I researched it I found the real guy had a full head of hair. So why the balding unless Mathew is really losing his hair and just decided to embrace it since his character is not a good looking hunk anyway ? Sort of the way Sean Connery doesn't don toupees in certain roles ( like the Untouchables ). A lot of actors/stars fool me. I did not even realize Tommy Lee Jones was bald until he went to the Academy Awards without his hair.

A long time ago, I saw him in a movie entitled, "Dazed and Confused". And, he was balding in that movie. So who knows? Maybe he is or maybe, it's just part of his character.

I did find a mug shot of when he was arrested in 1999 and his hairline was receding. So he must either wear a hair piece or has had some transplants.

I am watching this movie now on netflix in HD. In hd you can really see the bald cap line and its very distracting. They did a much better job on the others through out the movie but at the start of the movie it was awful.

The bonus trivia for this movie said he shaved down the middle to give himself the balding bowl cut look. So I'm not sure if anyone can see any skin caps..

In case anyone is still wondering, he himself has said he was balding, which he says was reversed with a product, though being neutral and objective it could very well be hair transplants,
