But why
Why is Jennifer Lawrence so overrated? Why am I the only person who seems to think she is honestly just an OK actress. And in this film, slightly terrible. Her accent was awful. It kept slipping in and out and going from a boston to a new york to like 4 others, no idea. Also Amy Adams. So overrated. Maybe a little better than Jennifer L, but also in this movie she made me cringe almost as much, because she slipped in and out of her accent like every sentence she had where she was playing "british." Dude, if you can't do an accent well, and consistent, don't do it.
I am still infuriated she won for this role over Meryl from Osage County. Pretty sure Jennifer beat out Julia as well? Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are EONS above these two and probably played their BEST roles of their lives in Osage County. That astonished me. Their brilliant work was somehow overshadowed and snubbed because of two overrated actresses who barley compare to them in general and especially between the roles they were all competing togher against.
I will forever be maddened by that scenario.
I won't completely HATE on Amy and Jennifer. Yeah they are good. Well, Amy is way better still than Jennifer. Jennifer is monotone in the Hunger Games and bores me to tears in everything she plays and plays the same person in almost everything---or irritates me because it seems like she is trying too hard and I am not supposed to be thinking "Ugh she's acting." while watching someone who is supposed to turn into someone else. It should be effortless. Jennifer is mediocre, Amy is good. But neither of them deserved the hype they did for this film just because Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper happened to nail it and make the film what it was.
Lame. Emma Stone should have taken Jennifer's place. She has solid performances every time. And is so much more entertaining to watch. And in my opinion, I mean I am a girl so it might not mean much---but she is far prettier than Jennifer.
I don't know who would I would replaced Amy Adams with. If the fake british accent had to be there---why not cast either a british actor who is both good at the american and british accent, or an american actor who can do the freaking accent without slipping throughout. Even Kiera Knightly would have been a better choice. She's talented, and I've heard her pull off the American accent very well. Either way If I were the director I would have screamed CUT every time their accents sounded like shi*. Mostly for Jennifer because at least Amy's character was faking the accent anyway so it could be justified it woudn't be perfect, but I highly doubt the director said "don't make it perfect." I truly think she just couldn't do it. That's how it sounded.
Please why, explain to me why "JLaw" is so special. Not only is she not THAT AMAZING at acting, shes not very gorgeous. So many beautiful actresses in Hollywood that act way better than her, and have better charisma and screen presence in films-- and yet tey don't get the roles or praise she does. I really don't get it. God even Scarlett Johansson would have done better. She isn't amazing either but I have heard her keep a consistent accent (Don Jon) and is definitely more charismatic and prettier than Jen. Same with Emma Stone and Natalie Portman. Would have been way better. Lots of other choices. Omg even Mila Kunis who I don't find to be spectacular, butI could see her pulling this role off better than her.
So...wtf?
