I think this film has the potential to get a cult status

It's a mess but has some fantastic elements, performances and music and visually it's memorable

I could see this getting way more embraced in coming years

Cult status is in the eye of the beholder, but what about the $150 million in box office? That amount probably isn't what it used to be, but it's still a mainstream hit, and it did get 10 Oscar nominations.

It don't matter who you hear it from. It's the same story.
