Bradley Cooper, not a good cast

From my point of view Bradley Cooper doesn't fit this kind of movie, because he doesn't have that vintage look/swing even if he's featured to look like one.

He's way too flamboyant and not serious to do this kind of character.

I think he would fit better on some kind of crook or swindler with his easy smile/laughs and more "modern swing".

Christian Bale is incredible, and he'll do almost every character. He's gifted and you can see that he does works very hard to "seem real".

Not true. He was really good in All About Steve. His tone was playing someone very serious in that. This movie was just convoluted because there was no defined plot. The director wanted them to improvise most of their parts.

Reminder: The O.C. comes back on POP network March 8th at 1 p.m. EST

Problem with him is he never "acts". It's just him playing another role.

All the other actors acted in this movie.

Everyone.

I felt like he was just trying to be Robert De Niro

I thought he worked well, with the understanding that his character was supposed to be eccentric and unstable. He seemed out of place because Richie is clearly in over his head and incompetent. Kind of like Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction, where he initially comes off as suave and capable only for it to become apparent that he's actually a bumbling weirdo.
